Questions

What TV programming does TeleChannel offer?
We provide distribution rights to the channels that are found on local cable television and satellite television systems.
Is TeleChannel a total solution?
TeleChannel is not a technical solution or distribution platform. We authorize the programming distribution rights and signal reception to your company's video headend. TeleChannel does work with all the major technical solutions providers and distribution platforms.
How are the programming services received?
The majority of these channels are delivered via satellite. This is done in different ways: Downlinking individual channels from satellites carrying each programmers feed or receiving aggregated channels that have been packaged by a satellite transport service company or from a programmer approved transport headend.
Does TeleChannel design systems and sell equipment and installation?
No. Our business is providing programming distribution rights to service providers who have constructed and operate IPTV systems that meet the requirements of the programming providers.
How do I re-sell these channels?
Once you have entered into a authorized TV Programming Distribution Agreement programming services can be sold to your Subscribers within an approved network distribution system. Your company must have acquired the legal right to provide these services from the relevant state or municipal authority e.g., city, county or statewide franchise.
What does programming cost?
The cost of programming varies from the programming providers and whether the service must be part of your 'basic' package or 'expanded' package. Some single channels are available and others bundle their channels and price accordingly.
Do I have to buy all of my programming from TeleChannel?
No. However, any channels that are part of a programmer's family of services must be carried as a group when acquired through TeleChannel.
Why do I have to buy a programmers entire package? What if I only want to license one or two out of a package? Can't I get these channels "a la carte"?
Programmers may require 100% carriage for channels which they view as a "family of services". If the Programmer requires such "bundling", individual channels cannot be broken out for distribution.
How do I pay for the programs?
Programmer fees are paid on a per-subscriber per-month basis.
Aside from paying, are there any other responsibilities I have?
The main obligations that a IPTV Operator has are:
  • Accurate reporting of subscriber counts.
  • Maintaining signal security and signal quality.
  • Reporting and paying any additional copyright fees.
  • Other terms and conditions detailed in TeleChannel's distribution agreement.
What about VOD and PPV?
Many programmers offer VOD services that are delivered though a third party satellite distributor or with equipment of their own. TeleChannel will assist its customers with the rights and activation of VOD programming.
Foreign language programming?
The most popular Spanish language programming channels are available. Other language programming may be available through TeleChannel or through the programming provider directly.
Can these channels be sold to international markets?
No. The programming distribution rights that TeleChannel represent are for use only in the domestic U.S. market.
What about the local off air broadcast stations?
Having an agreement with each local broadcaster will be necessary if you want those channels available to customers thru your system and not from a separate receive antenna. TeleChannel does not provide the local broadcast agreements. If you need assistance with obtaining these agreements, we have a referral that we can provide.
If I build my own headend, can I give my signal to other companies?
Yes, if you receive signal transport rights from the programmers.
Can I get my signal from other company's headend?
Yes, if the company with the headend equipment has programmer approved signal transport rights. You could use TeleChannel as your TV programmer provider.
Can I sell programming over the Internet?
No. The internet is an open system that has not been authorized by the majority of the programming providers as a distribution platform to either a PC or a TV set top box.
